Biographical notes:
Allen H. and Selma W. Berkman made significant contributions to both the Jewish community and the wider Pittsburgh community through their philanthropic gifts and their active participation in a wide variety of civic, cultural, and professional organizations. Allen H. Berkman (1912-2003), a lawyer, and his wife Selma (1916-1995) served on the boards of prominent cultural, religious, and social service organizations.
