Biographical notes:

Rufus M. Jones was born in Quary, Iowa in December 4, 1877. He came to Montana from Des Moines, Iowa in 1913 with his wife Mabel M. Jones who he married April 4, 1906. In the 1920 census, Jones is listed as a farmer in Rosebud County near Sumatra, Montana (School District 31) and his wife is listed as a teacher. They had two children, Doris R. Jones and Wendell L. Jones. Rufus Jones served with the armed forces in the Philippines during the Spanish American War. They moved to moved to Missoula, Montana in 1922. Rufus Jones died in on January 7, 1960 at the Verterans Administration Hospital at Fort Harrison. Mabel M. Jones died in Helena on Ocotober 19, 1970. Both of them are buried in Missoula, Montana.
