Nauvoo (Ill.)
Biographical notes:
Charter for the city of Nauvoo was granted by the Illinois legislature in December 1840 and repealed in January 1845. City government was organized in February 1841. Mayors were John C. Bennett, Joseph Smith, and Daniel Spencer.
