Women's Art Registry of Minnesota
Variant namesBiographical notes:
The Women's Art Registry of Minnesota (WARM) was begun in 1976 as a women's collective art group to provide a supportive environment for women artists to show their work. They built their own gallery space which served as a catalyst in the development of a downtown art district. The artists worked in mediums of paint and oils, textiles weaving, pottery, paper, and wood. The organization remained active until January, 1991 when it closed its gallery in Minneapolis and moved to smaller quarters in Saint Paul.
