Biographical notes:

Born in Jedwabne, Poland, Jacobinsky studied in the Yeshivot of Lomza, Telz, and Volozhin and received semikhah from Mordechai Karelitser. He entered the socialist movement in Russia by joining the Bund at the turn of the century and then became a labor union leader in New York in Local 17 of the Cloakmakers' Union. He also wrote articles in the Forward newspaper.
