The Parole Commission was first established in 1941 (Ch. 20519, Laws) and has, at various times, been called the Probation and Parole Commission or the Parole and Probation Commission. The Parole Commission is authorized to (1) determine what persons shall be placed on parole; (2) fix the time and conditions of parole; (3) determine violations of parole and what action should be taken with reference to such violations; (4) report to the Board of Pardons all circumstances relating to persons under consideration for parole; and (5) make investigations necessary for the carrying out of these duties.
