Biographical notes:

Alexander K. Farrar was a planter and lawyer of Kingston, Miss., and served as a Mississippi state senator for Adams County from 1852-1858 and in the state's secession convention. His plantation, Commencement, was located in Adams County, Miss. His first wife was Ann Mary Dougharty. She died in the 1860s, and Farrar subsequently married Lue Philps Lesley.
