Whaling vessel, out of Faial, Azores, mastered by Albert Lewis, on voyage 30 Oct. 1862-20 Jan. 1863 to Cornell and Brazil Banks whaling grounds; built at Newbury, Mass., 1809; earlier whaling out of Boston, Mass., as the ship Hope.

R. J. and C. Kidd owned the Perseverance, which was built in 1852, from 1882 to ca. 1892. The Hudson Bay Company used the Perseverance as a supply ship until 1900. In 1902 the ship belonged to the British Columbian Steamship Trading and Agency Company.
