Biographical notes:

Julian Freeman (1897-1980) was a prominent businessman and influential activist within the Indianapolis Jewish community. The president of his synagogue and several other Jewish organizations, he traveled frequently to Israel where he came into contact with influential Israeli leaders. He was also the founder of the National Foundation for Jewish Culture and the National Jewish Community Relations Advisory Council, now the Jewish Council for Public Affairs.
