Biographical notes:
John May and his son, Henry Knox May, were merchants and shippers in Boston, Massachusetts, and proprietors of the Union Wharf (May's Wharf). John May was also a member and agent of the Ohio Company of Asssociates. His grandson, Edward Tuckerman May was an agent at the Boston Customs House.
