Biographical notes:

A case worker with Russian immigrants, Kyra Malkovsky (1894- ) was born in Minsk and came to the United States in 1917. After five years as an employee of the Russian embassy in New York, she began a long career as a social worker with the International Institute of New York City. She also was co-founder in 1925 of the Children's Welfare Society, and worked for the Tolstoy Foundation in Austria, Rome, Italy, and the United States.
