Biographical notes:

Montgomery Clift, stage and film actor, was born on October 17, 1920 in Omaha, Nebraska.

In 1935 he made his Broadway debut in FLY AWAY HOME. His first film was RED RIVER (1946). He was nominated three times for best actor, THE SEARCH (1948), A PLACE IN THE SUN (1951), FROM HERE TO ETERNITY (1953) and once for best supporting actor for his performance in JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG (1961). His last film was THE DEFECTOR (1966). He died in New York City on July 23, 1966.
