Biographical notes:
Confederate soldier, Sergent, South Carolina Volunteers, 2nd Regt., Co. A; resident of Columbia, S.C.; caputred at Gettysburg, 4 July 1863; sent to Baltimore, 21 July 1863, then Fort McHenry, 24 Aug. 1863; arrived at Point Lookout, Md., on 16 Sept. 1863, and remained there imprisoned until 11 Feb. 1865, when he was released in a prisoner exchange, and he returned to Richmond, Va.
