Biographical/Historical Note

1886 Born, Začir, near Cetinje, Montenegro 1906 Entered the Military Academy at St. Petersburg 1912 1913 Served in the Balkan Wars as a Montenegrin officer in the Royal Yugoslav Army 2 April 1916 Joined the Headquarters of the St. Petersburg Russian Military District, enlisted in the Body-Guard 3rd Infantry Regiment 9 April 1916 Appointed as junior officer of the 7th Company in the Body-Guard 3rd Infantry Regiment 1 May 1916 Became a Russian citizen, served as commanding officer of the 8th Company, Body-Guard 3rd Infantry Regiment 15 July 1916 Became shell-shocked in a battle against Germany and was evacuated 1917 Promoted to captain, then colonel in the Russian army. Decorated with the "Order of St. Stanislav 2nd class with sword" and the "Order of St. George 4th class" for his military achievements 1918 Returned from Russia, served in the Royal Yugoslav Army 26 May 1919 Decorated with the Order of "Prince Danilo I, 4th class" and with the Order of the "Obilic Medal," the highest military decoration of the Kingdom of Montenegro 1941 Joined the Serbian Nationalist movement, under the command of general Mihailović, and fought against the Communists and Tito January 1945 Captured and executed by Tito's army
