Edward Gould was a cashier at the Manufacturers and Traders' Bank in Portland, Maine. The bank later became the National Traders Bank. In 1851 Edward Gould was the secretary for the committee to make arrangements for the American Board of Commissioners of Foreign Mission for a visit to Portland.
The Plymouth Congregational Church of Portland was formed on December 27, 1869 by the union of the Third Congregational Church of Christ and the Central Congregational Church.
