Robert Emmitt
Biographical notes:
Robert Emmitt was born on February 8, 1921, in Ohio. He attended Ohio State University and the University of Colorado. While at CU, he spent his summers working on ranches and exploring the West. He also spent some time living on a Ute Reservation, an experience which led to the creation of his first published book, The Last War Trail . He also published two novels, The Legend of Ogden Jenks and Actaeon Homeward .
His career was spent in writing and publishing, working as a member of the editorial staff of the New York Herald Tribune for five years and as a managing editor of Vanderbilt Press. Emmitt later moved back to Boulder, where he died in June of 1984.
