Biographical notes:
Jack served as a Pathfinder in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army European Theater in World War II from 1942-1945 achieving the rank of Private First Class. He was one of eight men who parachuted into occupied France to set up communications before the invasion at Normandy on D-Day, and was taken as a prisoner of war on D-Day (June 6, 1944) and held for ten months.
