Resident of Allentown, Upper Freehold Township, Monmouth County, New Jersey; served as a justice of the peace, 1815?-18???, and as town postmaster, 1820-1845; conducted a drug and hardware store. Imlay, whose middle initial was apparently either "J" or (less likely) "L," probably died in 1854.
