Biographical notes:

Captain James Beebe was the fourth descendant of John Beebe, an early emigrant to central New York State; he was a Revolutionary War soldier, jailkeeper, maple sugarer, civil engineer, and surveyor, who lived in Solon, Pompey, and Onondaga Hill, New York.
