Gross, Ruth Belov.
Variant namesBiographical notes:
Ruth Belov Gross was born March 1, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA. She became a medical writer, but in 1970 wrote a children's book, just for a change, expecting to return to medical writing, but instead she became a children's author. Her research is thorough and meticulous. For 'The Emperor's New Clothes,' for example, she compared nine different translations paragraph by paragraph, before she began her own retelling. She has been recognized for her clear, simple, and direct writing style, and has received recognition for several of her titles. Biographical Source: Something About the Author, vol. 33.
