Came from Kentucky to Utah in 1847, settled near Salt Lake City. Participated in resistence to Utah Expedition, 1857; traded with Navajos in Southern Utah, active in civic affairs.

Andrew Jackson Allen (1818-1884) was an early member of the LDS Church who moved to Utah under the direction of Abraham Owen Smoot in 1847. He married Delilah Andrus in 1841 and had four children, two of which died during the journey to Utah. Andrew Jackson Allen died in 1884.
