First Lutheran Church (Saint Helens, Or.)
Biographical notes:
First Lutheran of Saint Helens, Oregon was organized with 18 adult members on February 1, 1924. A Lutheran Sunday School had met for three years previous in the old Adventist church, and services had been held occasionally in various homes. A church was erected in 1924 at the present site, and a parish hall was added in 1930. From 1924-1946 the congregation was served by the pastor from Bethany of Warren. Following steady growth in membership, the church became too small to adequately serve the needs of the congregation. In 1962 the church was torn down, and a new one was dedicated on April 7, 1963.
