The Associated Students of the University of Wyoming was founded in 1913 and serves as the university's student government. It is currently made of up three branches: Executive, including the ASUW President; Legislative, composed of the ASUW Vice-President and elected senators from different colleges; and the Judicial, which oversees the Judicial Council.

The governing body is comprised of three branches: executive, legislative, and judicial. The board consists of students who are elected by their peers. The board includes a president, a vice-president, and senators from each of the colleges.
