Biographical notes:
Shirley May Kunz was born around 1927, the daughter of Edmund and Lillian Kunz of Chicago, Illinois. During World War II, she attended Edwin G. Foreman High School and corresponded with soldiers and sailors in the United States Army, United States Navy, and United States Coast Guard.
