These papers contain materials pertaining to Martin County farmer John Conrad Getsinger, Sr., (Nov. 4, 1812-Jan. 16, 1891), a native of Wurttemburg, Germany, and several of his descendants, including J. C. Getsinger, Jr., Perlie Eugene Getsinger, and Thomas Reddick Getsinger.
