Welch, Mrs. M. J.
Biographical notes:
Arthur E. Welch, a native of Willimantic, Connecticut, joined the United States Army around June 1916, and spent much of the month in training at Niantic, Connecticut, with the 1st Infantry Regiment, Company L. In late June, the regiment traveled to Nogales, Arizona, to help defend against incursions by Pancho Villa and Mexican soldiers. He remained in Arizona until October 1916. Welch had at least one brother, Paul, and his mother was Mrs. M. J. Welch.
