Biographical notes:
Ralph C. Rockwood (b. 1912, Sapulpa, Okla.-d. March 1, 1967), U.S. Air Force officer, entered the Air Force after graduating from university in 1933 and graduated from flying school the following year. His early assignments were as fighter and light bombardment pilot. During the World War II years he served in various capacities in the Flying Training Command, from flying instructor to commanding officer. After the War he was chief of staff, Mariana Air Materiel Area, and chief of staff, 19th Bombardment Wing. In 1958 he was assigned as commander, Southern Air Materiel Area, Pacific, in the Philippines. He retired in 1966.
