Biographical notes:

Educator and author, born in Italy in Salerno. Patri came to the U.S. in the 1880s. He was the first Italian American principal of a New York City Public School. He wrote a syndicated newspaper column on the education of children and seven books for educators and parents and several books for children, including a translation of Pinocchio.
