Biographical notes:
William J. Terry was born in Wash. in 1921 and enlisted in the U.S. Army on August 17, 1942 at Seattle, Wash. At the time of enlistment he was unmarried and had completed two year of college. Terry received his basic training at Camp Wolter, Tex. before joining what became the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. He served in the Headquarters Company of the 85th Regiment and later with the 10th Mountain Division Headquarters Company. During combat operations in Italy, Terry received the Bronze Star medal for his actions during the Apennines and Po River campaigns in spring 1945. He died in 1993 in Seattle, Wash.
