Sergeant from West Boylston, Massachusetts serving in the 25th Massachusetts Infantry, Company K. Enlisted as Private and was promoted to Corporal and then Sergeant. Parents were David C. and Adaline Murdock.

Biography
Charles Albert Murdock, born in Massachusetts in 1841, came to California in 1855. He was appointed register of the land office, Humboldt, California, in 1863. In 1867 he entered the printing business, printed the Lark, edited the Pacific Unitarian from 1891, and retired from business only in 1915. He was a member of the California House of Representatives in 1883, served on the Board of Education in San Francisco, 1894-1896, was civil service commissioner, 1902-1903, and a member of the Board of Supervisors, San Francisco, 1907-1916. He was an active Unitarian. He wrote his autobiography when he was 80 years old, A backward glance at 80, and also Horatio Stebbins -His ministry and personality.
