Habonim was organized in Cleveland, Ohio, ca. 1935, by Labor Zionists to develop a youth movement supporting Zionist education and promoting settlement in Palestine and later the State of Israel. The Cleveland Chapter of Habonim was active in the 1940s and 1950s.
