Henry Jackson and his family were one of the pioneering families in the Cowlitz County, WA area. They crossed the plains in 1853 and finally settled in what is now Cowlitz County. These pioneering families were instrumental in establishing the County, building the community, and helping with the development from Territory to statehood. The served their communities, often in many different capacities, and they served their governments with appointed and elected offices.
