Robert Cooper of Chester District, S.C.; includes William Frierson Cooper of Maury County and Nashville, Tenn., Chief Justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court (1876-1886) and reviser of the Tennessee Code; and his father, Matthew Delamere Cooper of Maury County, Tenn., New Orleans commission merchant and planter.
