Several existing programs overseeing undergraduate academics were brought together in 1991, forming a new Division of Undergraduate Studies - which was overseen by a dean. Beginning in 1997, the Division was led by a vice provost, and in 2001, the name of the Division was changed to the Division of Undergraduate Affairs. The current name of Division of Undergraduate Academic Programs was implemented in 2006.
