A native of Laurens, S.C., Laura Griffin was the Director of the Office of Substance Abuse Prevention (OSAP) at the College of Charleston from 1988-1996 [initially called LEADS (Leadership Education for Alcohol and Drug Safety Peer Education) and later called WAVE (Wellness Advocacy and Volunteer Empowerment)].
