Livingstone College. Office of the President
Biographical notes:
Founded by African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in 1879, Livingstone College was named for David Livingstone, the missionary, explorer and philanthropist; first postsecondary level instruction was offered in 1880; the first baccalaureate degree was awarded in 1887.
