Biographical notes:

Incorporated in 1907 under the state laws of Idaho, the company operated a railway line that linked the mining towns of Gilmore and Salmon, Idaho, with the Oregon Short Line at Armstead, Montana, in order to carry ore to the Butte and Anaconda smelters. It was controlled by the NP through stock ownership, and itself held stock in the Lemhi Telephone Company and the Idaho Development Company. Plagued by financial problems throughout its corporate life, it discontinued operations in 1939 and was dissolved in 1946.
