Biographical notes:
Malcolm Hay of Seaton (1881 - 1962) became a distinguished local scholar and historian after his early wartime experiences. His fresh approach to many controversial points of Scottish history and the role of the Catholic Church had a widespread influence. In later life he became involved in the Zionist cause, and wrote extensively on the historical problems of the Jews in Europe.
