Biographical notes:
Born at Owego colony, Dakota Territory, son of William Olson and Florence (Manly) Ward. Member of first graduating class of North Dakota Agricultural College in 1895. Began ranching in 1916 near Devils Lake, N.D., later moved to Minnewaukan, N.D. Business interests included a livery stable, a bank in Bowbells, N.D., an insurance company in Bismarck, N.D., and a lumber company in Savoy, Mont. Wed Emma Jane Stevens in 1911. He died in Alabama and was buried in Bismarck, N.D. She died in 1975.
