Harvard UAW.
Biographical notes:
The earliest efforts to organize a labor union at Harvard University were associated with District 65 and later UAW. Organizing efforts were ultimately successful in May 1988, when 4000 Harvard employess in offices, laboratories and libraries chose to be represented by the Harvard Union of Clerical and Technical Workers. HUCTW was affiliated with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). Organizers of HUCTW, including Kristine Rondeau, were involved with the early UAW efforts, and the HUCTW logo and slogan "We can't eat prestige" had been used by Harvard UAW.
