Biographical notes:
Charles M. Strauss came to Tucson in 1879, served as Mayor of Tucson, 1883 to 1884, and served on the Board of Regents, as School Superintendent and in other public offices. His daughter, Gertrude Strauss Read Weaver, was married to William Read (owner of the Fashion Saloon in Tucson). Gertrude had two daughters, Olive Read Graf and Lacy Read.
