Walter H. Abelmann, AB, 1943, Harvard College; MD, 1946, University of Rochester; is Professor of Medicine, Emeritus, at Harvard Medical School. Abelmann served as Chief of Cardiology at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, Mass. Abelmann's research at Harvard Medical School focused on the understanding of the mechanical and chemical bases of function and dysfunction within the heart.
