New Castle Mutual Insurance Company (Del.).
Biographical notes:
The New Castle County Mutual Insurance Company was incorporated on February 6, 1849, as a mutual fire insurance company in Wilmington, Del. Its first president was James Canby. It was later renamed the New Castle Mutual Insurance Company. On June 15, 1962, it absorbed the Kent County Mutual Insurance Company by merger. The latter firm had been incorporated in February 1847, with Samuel M. Harrington as president.
