James Kenneth Hahn (born 1950) graduated from Pepperdine University's Seaver College in 1972 and earned a juris doctor degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law in 1975. He served as the Los Angeles City Attorney from 1985 to 2001. He was elected mayor of Los Angeles in 2001, serving until 2005.
