In 1931 a commission of nine members was appointed to recommend revisions to the state constitution of North Carolina. Burton Craige (1875-1945), a lawyer of Winston-Salem, N.C., was one of commission members, along with Lindsay Carter Warren (born 1889) and John Johnston Parker (1885-1958). At the recommendation of the State Supreme Court, the proposed constitution of 1933 was never submitted to the voters.
