Harry S. Grier - born Jan. 27, 1880; commissioned June 12, 1903; Major, General Staff Intelligence Officer of 8th Division; counsel for the blacks of the 24th Infantry charged with the murder of citizens in the Houston Riot of Aug. 23, 1917. James L. selected for appointment to West Point, 1924.
