Biographical notes:
Anton Raven joined the Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company as a clerk in 1852. His progress was rapid and in 1897 he was elected president of the company. He resigned from this position in 1915 and was made chairman of the board of directors. Raven made a generous contribution to Hope College.
