Biographical notes:
Leroy Stafford Boyd (1873-1936) was the son of Colonel David French Boyd and Esther Gertrude Wright. He attended public school in Auburn, Ala., and later graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute. He studied law in the office of Judge William F. Kernan in Clinton, La., and in 1899 received a degree from Tulane Law School. Boyd also earned degrees of Doctor of Civil Law and Master of Diplomacy. He served as librarian of the Louisiana Bar Association in New Orleans (1897-1898) and as librarian of the Interstate Commerce Commission (1905-1936). Boyd also was a member of the Louisiana Republican State Central Committee (1900-1904) and was very active in the affairs of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

His sister, Mary Wright Flemming, was married to Dr. Walter Flemming, a distinguished historian and writer. Boyd attended public school in Auburn, Ala., and later graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute. He studied law in the office of Judge William F. Kernan in Clinton, La., and in 1899 received a degree from Tulane Law School.
Other degrees include Doctor of Civil Law and Master of Diplomacy (1902).
