Biographical notes:

Moon Landrieu, former mayor of New Orleans, Louisiana was born July 23, 1930, in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, the son of Joseph and Loretta (Bechtel) Landrieu. Moon Landrieu received a BBA from Loyola University in 1952 and his LLB from Loyola University in 1954. He enteres the United States Army as a lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General's Corps; 1954-57; he worked as a lawyer with the firm Landrieu, Calogero and Kronlage, 1957-1960; as a representative from the 12th Ward of New Orleans, 1960-1966; as a Councilman-at-large from 1966-1970. Moon Landrieu became Mayor of New Orleans, LA from 1970 until April of 1978. During 1975-1976 Mr. Landrieu served as president of the United States Conference of Mayors.
