Mayhew family.
Biographical notes:
Mark Byatt Mayhew was born in Essex and made numerous voyages to Australia as Captain of the "Swiftsure". In 1862 he married Catherine Amelia Dutton (1842-1921) who was born in Sydney. The couple bought land near Stratford in Gippsland, Victoria in 1882. Their daughter Claire married Norman Bell.
